Being carried on a wooden barrow at the cheese market in Alkmaar was one of the greatest experiences for me even though it wasn’t me being carried. Seeing my boys being transported and weighed like cheese by the cheese carriers made me so incredible happy, I can’t even describe it. We also visited Amsterdan, Rotterdam, Gouda and the Windmills in Kinderdijk.

Alkmaar
Alkmaar is a small town about 45 min away from Amsterdam. It is famous for its cheese market that has been taking place since 1365. It is normally held every Friday at 10am from April until September.
